What an independent agency changes
A captive agent works for one insurance company and can offer you that company's products. We are independent, which means we place coverage with whichever carrier fits the risk in front of us. When your circumstances change (a new driver in the household, a renovation, a first employee), we can move you rather than talk you into staying.
It also means our advice does not have to be flattering to any particular carrier. If a policy you already hold is good, we will say so.
How we work
We start with exposure rather than price: what you own, who depends on you, what contracts you have signed, and what a bad outcome would actually cost. Then we quote it, put the options next to each other, and go through what each one excludes. You decide with the trade-offs visible.
We review policies at renewal instead of letting them roll over unexamined. Rebuild costs, payroll, vehicle counts and business operations all drift, and coverage that fit three years ago frequently does not fit now.
